Sophie has been a friend of mine for quite some time. I love being asked to photograph friends and loved one’s weddings. So when she asked if I would photograph her small wedding, I gladly accepted. Well, Sophie and I share a different understanding of the words “tiny” and “small”!
24, that’s right twenty-four bridesmaids and groomsmen. Nearly double my largest wedding party. I loved it! So much fun and chaos filled this day. Just look at this party!
The day started like most.. 12 women piled into a house all doing their hair and makeup at one time! 0_0 Hairdryers, makeup powder, and hairspray everywhere!
Sophie did a great job coordinating such a large group, her colors and “everyone just a little different” style really looked great! Sophie and John had their wedding on family land in Ocala, put together and organized with their family and friends.
I loved how “backyard” this wedding was, yet it was so chic. I couldn’t describe her theme any better than “mismatched”. Everything was a little different, from the rugs that ran the aisle to the dinnerware and even food (italian, bbq, southern). I say mismatched, but it all went together perfectly!
Sophie and John decided they wanted to do a first look under the same tree they would do their ceremony. We put John under the tree and had him wait for his future bride. They passed each other handwritten love notes.
The ceremony was beautiful! John swept his bride off her feet!
After the ceremony, we hurried over to the other side of the yard to take some photos of them and the family. No small task by any means!
The reception kicked off and everyone was quick to jump on the dance floor and enjoy the night. John and Ally shared a wonderful dance together and I don’t think there was a dry eye in the place!
This entire wedding was amazing! Sophie, John and their families did a wonderful job from start to finish with this celebration. To see more photos from this awesome wedding visit weddingwire.
