Hello everyone!
My name is Dana, and I am the one behind the lens. I have enjoyed many years capturing weddings, celebrations, and portraits of beautiful souls.
Not one photographer is exactly like another, so let me explain a bit of my special traits that set me apart from the others.
Natural expressions are my main focus. Can I offer the model vogue shot with dramatic lighting and edgy pose? Of course! (and can be so much fun!). That's not what I am here for. I want the raw emotion, joy, anticipation, tears, and love! I want you to look at your photos and be reminded of how fun that memory was, how happy you look, and how special this photo is to you. These aren't just pretty pictures, they are your memories.
Speaking of these being your memories.. I don't delete photos! You are going to get every last one of your photos whether I like it or not. Most of us photogs are pretty big critics of ourselves and the majority of the photos we take end up in our discard folder, not because they are no good, but because WE don't love it. Over the years I've learned that clients love photos that I don't quite share the same enthusiasm for. This has lead me to my decision not to be the judge of a photo. The down side to this is you will end up with far too many options to go through! (Better get to scrolling through them.. it's going to take awhile).
It's important for us to vibe. I value my clients and part of that is making sure we are a great fit for each other. If either of us are not feeling a connection, that will reflect in your photos. I offer engagement session with all wedding packages so that we can have an opportunity to get a feel for our vibe and if it's not a great fit I can help you find the perfect photog for your big day.
Finally, my pricing. I understand the struggles of the economy and that photography is a luxury. I operate with minimal overhead and cut costs that would be passed to my clients where ever I can. Though I refuse to skimp on equipment and technology! I rely heavily on word of mouth instead of paying for advertisements and fancy vendor sites like weddingwire and theknot (which cost a fortune to be a part of). So please spread the word for me!
